2012 Recap and Resolustions Part Deux

With the first week of 2013 in the past, I've settled into the post holiday routine and finally have time to reflect on last year.  It was busy, though not as busy as my co-author's!  I completed three LSSC courses, read quite a bit, watched WAY too much TV, and failed miserably at NaNoWriMo, but had a lot of fun participating.  I managed to make one quilt and one afghan for Christmas presents and my own holiday cards.    Now for a look back...

Best Movie:

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen

Runners Up:
Skyfall
Pitch Perfect
The Avengers
The Dark Knight Rises

Movies I Wish I Had Seen:
Lincoln
The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Best Book:

The Bedlam Detective

The Bedlam Detective centers around Sebastian Becker, a man who works for the crown investigating wealthy peoples' sanity.  He finds himself embroiled in a local mystery while life at home begins to fall apart.  I finished this book wholly expecting to find an entire Becker series underway, and was heartbroken to discover it's a stand alone novel.  It was so good that I was willing to break my most upheld literary rule (never start a series that isn't finished - or about to be finished).

Best Musical Find:

Imagine Dragons/Night Visions

Resolutions for the New (now current) Year:

  • Take absolute control over my health (Gluten Free forever!)
  • Finish my LSSC
  • Try to write, play the piano, learn to crochet
  • Read 55 books (5 up from last year!)
  • Watch Lincoln and the Perks of Being a Wallflower

  1. Going gluten-free, eh! Good to know! Thanks for the lit and movie reviews, btw... I may need to argue about Skyfall though. My misogyny-meter hit the roof this round.

    No Prometheus?
